Golly gee we’ve got another major release to unveil! No, not just a single POTF character, but ALL 17 POTF characters now have their own COO and Figure Focus guides going at long last.
No longer is the POTF line the unloved line of figure collectors, it turns out there are quite a few plastic and paint variations which weren’t commonly known. The downside for the COO chasers is this line will cause your eyes to fall out. Yep, that miniscule text really sucks. The upside is this line has become so expensive, no sane person would have more than one or two of each, right Milan?
So is it last 15, last 17…. whatever. It’s a lot of work and I particularly want to thank Andreas Bexelius, James Gurney, Jamie Acott and Wolff Lipinsky for their help in getting this long neglected figure line onto the site. Enjoy!
Above you can see following variations (left to right):
- Dark brown eyes, mid grey-brown hood
- Very dark brown eyes, light grey-brown hood
LILI LEDY in Mexico produced the Lumat figure and accessories. In a continual search for cheaper bases of production, Kenner added Lili Ledy to their rota of vendors in Asia, to include their factory over the US border in Tijuana, Mexico. With greater Kenner oversight, the quality control in this Tijuana plant was higher than the previous output from Lili Ledy’s Mexico City operation.
The tooling for Lumat was only used in Mexico, so only minor paint variations exist on this figure. No country of origin or date stamps were ever applied.
Lumat was released on Lili Ledy 50bk, ROTJ 79, Trilogo and 92bk POTF cardbacks.

There are four spray mask variations for this figure. The production version is available with only a date, and no country of origin stamp.
I have only been able to document two date stamps so far, though it’s assumed there must be four to keep this figure in line with the production methods Kenner was using elsewhere at this moment.
Amanaman was released on both Trilogo and 92bk POTF cards.
Above you can see following variations (left to right):
- 1984 date stamp. Dark red head scarf, dull red trousers
- 1985 date stamp. Bright red head scarf, brighter red trousers
SMILE in Hong Kong produced the Barada figure and accessory. Demand had slowed by time of the POTF line, and as a result these figures were produced in much lower numbers.
The production version is available with only a date, and no country of origin stamp. The COO was simply adjusted by restamping a “5” directly over the “4” in “1984”.
The two figures have many very slight paint and plastic colour variations including the red paint used on the scarf and a brighter red in the plastic used to shoot the leg parts.
1984 stamped Barada has occasionally been found in the second issue of the Sears exclusive Jabba the Hutt Dungeon Action Playset, while 1985 Barada is found in the same playset as well as Trilogo and 92bk POTF cards.

The production version is available with only a date, and no country of origin stamp. There are a few small variations, notably the plastic which has been found with and without a metallic fleck. The figure can also have either large or small eyes and the grey paint used can also vary. Further variations with combinations of those features would also be possible.
EV-9D9 was released on both Trilogo and 92bk POTF cards and was never packaged with an accessory.

SMILE in Hong Kong produced the Lando Calrissian (General Pilot) and accessories. Demand had slowed by time of the POTF line, and as a result these figures were produced in much lower numbers. The production version is only available with a date, but no country of origin stamp.
Due to the short run, there are no known variations for the figure. The cape has been noted to fade slightly and while there’s no major genuine colour variations, the possibility of small material colour variations will have to remain open for now.
Lando Calrissian (General Pilot) was released on both Trilogo and 92bk POTF cards.
SMILE in Hong Kong produced the A-Wing Pilot and accessories. Demand had slowed by time of the POTF line, and as a result these figures were produced in much lower numbers. Due to the short run, there are no known variations for this figure. The production version is only available with a date, but no country of origin stamp.
The date stamps on this figure are virtually identical. Looking at the cavity details around the hip joint and soles of the feet has helped confirm four cavities.
A-Wing Pilot was released on the Trilogo, 92bk POTF and Droids era cards.
Above you can see following variations (left to right):
- Grey face paint
- Green-grey face paint
KADER in China/Hong Kong produced the Imperial Dignitary figure. Demand had slowed by time of the POTF line, and as a result these figures were produced in much lower numbers.

- Lighter head plastic (degradation?)
SMILE in Hong Kong produced the Yak Face figure and accessories. Demand had slowed by time of the POTF line, and as a result these figures were produced in much lower numbers. The production version is only available with a date, but no country of origin stamp.
The date stamps are very similar, however looking at the cavity details around the hip joint and soles of the feet has helped confirm four cavities.
It’s difficult to know if the lighter head I’ve documented here is a genuine plastic colour variation or equally possible a result of plastic degradation. I’ve included both for now until a consensus is reached.
Yak Face was released on Trilogo and 92bk POTF cards.
